The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 325 polling-unit result sheets from the 2026 Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal, as officials continue the counting and collation of votes across the state.
The 325 results uploaded represent 8.64 per cent of the 3,763 polling-unit results expected from the governorship election held across Osun State’s 30 local government areas.
The development provides the first major update on the electronic publication of results after voting ended at polling units across the state on Saturday.
According to the latest information available on the INEC IReV portal, the most recent upload was recorded at 3:57:10 p.m. on August 15, 2026.
The results are being uploaded gradually as polling officials complete the counting of ballots, record the figures on result sheets and transmit the documents through the electoral commission’s electronic system.
Osogbo records highest number of uploaded results
Among the local government areas listed on the IReV portal, Osogbo Local Government Area recorded the highest number of uploaded results, with 42 result sheets available at the time of the update.
Ife East followed with 37 uploaded results, while Ife Central recorded 28.
Other local government areas with relatively high numbers of uploaded result sheets included Irepodun and Ife South, with 18 results each. Ifelodun had 16, while Ilesa East recorded 15.
At the lower end, Boluwaduro, Isokan and Orolu had two uploaded results each, while Ola-Oluwa recorded three.
The variation reflects the different stages reached by electoral officials in the respective polling units and local government areas.
Counting continues across Osun
Sorting and counting of ballots began at several polling units shortly after voting ended, with party agents and observers monitoring the process.
Following the counting, polling officials are expected to record the results on the relevant result sheets before the documents are transmitted electronically.
The gradual uploading of the documents means that the number of results available on IReV is expected to increase as the collation process progresses.
The publication of polling-unit results is particularly significant because IReV allows members of the public, political parties, candidates, observers and other stakeholders to access result sheets transmitted from polling units.
The platform is part of INEC’s broader effort to improve transparency and give stakeholders greater visibility into the results-management process.
Davido raises concern over result uploads
The pace of result publication had earlier generated reactions from some Nigerians and political stakeholders.
Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, questioned the delay in uploading results to the INEC platform and urged the electoral commission to make the figures available promptly.
He also called on voters and stakeholders to remain vigilant and ensure that the figures recorded at polling units were properly captured and transmitted.
The concerns came as attention remained focused on the electronic results portal, with voters and political parties monitoring developments from different parts of Osun State.
Uploaded results do not show election winner yet
Despite the publication of 325 results, the figures currently available on IReV should not be interpreted as an indication of the candidate who is winning the Osun governorship election.
The number of result sheets uploaded from a local government area does not represent the number of votes secured by any candidate. It only shows how many polling-unit result sheets have been transmitted and made available on the platform.
Likewise, a candidate appearing to perform strongly in the results currently visible on IReV cannot be declared the winner until the official collation process has been completed.
The final outcome will depend on the results recorded at polling units and subsequently collated through the appropriate electoral structures.
With only 325 of the expected 3,763 polling-unit results currently uploaded, thousands of result sheets are still expected to be transmitted.
The number of results on the IReV portal is therefore likely to rise as polling officials conclude their assignments and complete the required electronic transmission process.
Political parties, candidates, observers and members of the public are expected to continue monitoring the portal while awaiting the official collation of results.
The Osun governorship election 2026 is one of Nigeria’s closely watched off-cycle elections, with the credibility of the voting process and the transparency of the results expected to remain major issues throughout the collation period.
