Ethan Nwaneri Signs New Long-Term Arsenal Deal Until 2030

Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri has committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2030.

The 18-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire in June 2026, but Arsenal moved quickly to secure one of English football’s brightest young prospects amid reported interest from several European giants.

“This Is Where I Feel at Home”

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Nwaneri expressed his joy and determination to continue his development under Mikel Arteta.

“It means everything to me, I’m so happy to have got it done. This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best,” he said.

“I see this as my first real season and part of a proper squad in the changing room. I’m excited for what I can bring and how I can help the team.

I think I’ve become more direct over the past few years and I’ve added more goals, so I’m excited for what will come next.”

Record-Breaker and Rising Star

Nwaneri first made headlines in September 2022, when he became the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League — just 15 years and 181 days old — during Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Brentford.

Last season, the attacking midfielder enjoyed a true breakthrough, making 37 appearances in all competitions and scoring nine goals, becoming a regular in Arteta’s matchday squad. His technical ability, composure in possession, and eye for goal have drawn comparisons to Arsenal legend Jack Wilshere.

Success on the International Stage

The teenager’s rapid rise continued into the summer, when he played a pivotal role for England Under-21s at the UEFA U-21 European Championship in Slovakia. He helped the Young Lions retain their title, adding another accolade to his growing résumé.

Arsenal’s Faith in Youth

Nwaneri’s new deal is the latest example of Arsenal’s commitment to developing homegrown talent, following recent contract extensions for the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and William Saliba.

With Arsenal competing in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup this season, Nwaneri is expected to get further opportunities to showcase his talent at the highest level.
