Sharafadeen Alli inaugurates Oyo APC’s Apex Campaign Council featuring former deputy governors, senators and party leaders ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has inaugurated an Apex Campaign Council comprising former deputy governors, serving and former lawmakers, party leaders and other prominent political figures ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The inauguration, held on Monday at the party’s campaign office in Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan, brought together key stakeholders tasked with coordinating the APC’s campaign activities and advancing its electoral ambitions in the state.

Among the prominent personalities inaugurated into the council are former deputy governors Moses Alake Adeyemo, who currently serves as the Oyo State APC chairman; Iyiola Oladokun; and Taofeek Arapaja.

The council also features former senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Ayoade Adeseun and Hosea Agboola, whose political experience is expected to contribute to the party’s campaign planning and engagement with voters across the state.

Other members include Alli’s running mate, Adesoji Adedeji; the Director-General of the campaign council, Barrister Yemi Aderibigbe; his deputy, Sola Ogunbode; former First Lady Olukemi Alao-Akala; Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle; and Mrs Hannah Ogunesan.

Speaking at the inauguration, Alli pledged that his administration would embrace inclusiveness and ensure that the interests of residents across Oyo State remained central to its policies and programmes if elected governor.

The APC candidate stressed that his proposed government would serve the entire state without discrimination based on geographical location, social background or other differences.

He maintained that governance should prioritise the collective welfare of the people, assuring residents that his administration would be committed to addressing their needs irrespective of where they live.

Alli’s pledge comes as the APC intensifies efforts to consolidate its political structure, strengthen internal coordination and position itself for the forthcoming governorship contest.

The composition of the Apex Campaign Council brings together individuals with experience in government, legislative affairs, party administration and political mobilisation.

Their involvement is expected to support the coordination of campaign strategies and efforts to reach voters in different parts of Oyo State.

In his remarks, the campaign’s Director-General, Barrister Yemi Aderibigbe, expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the council.

Aderibigbe acknowledged the responsibility attached to managing the campaign and assured the party that the council would work in accordance with its assigned mandate.

He emphasised the importance of effective coordination, strategic engagement and a well-organised campaign structure in pursuing the APC’s electoral objectives.

According to him, the council would focus on carrying out its responsibilities within the established terms of reference, with attention to the planning and coordination required for a successful campaign.

Aderibigbe also revealed that members had held a strategic meeting ahead of the formal inauguration.

He described the meeting as productive, noting that discussions centred on campaign management and preparations for the forthcoming election.

The meeting provided an opportunity for members to deliberate on key organisational issues and consider the steps required to ensure that campaign activities are properly coordinated.

With the inauguration completed, the council is expected to play a central role in aligning the party’s campaign efforts, engaging political stakeholders and supporting Alli’s ambition to secure the APC’s victory in the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

The development marks another step in the party’s preparations for the election, as political parties work to strengthen their structures and mobilise support ahead of the next governorship contest.
