NPFL Transfer: Franck Mawuena Departs Remo Stars Following Contract Expiration

Togolese striker Franck Mawuena has officially left Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars after the expiration of his contract with the Ikenne-based club.

The 27-year-old forward was a key figure in Remo Stars’ historic 2024/25 campaign, helping the club clinch its first-ever NPFL title and secure qualification for the CAF Champions League. Mawuena featured prominently throughout the season, bringing experience and physical presence to the attack.

Signed in 2022, Mawuena Known for his strength, aerial presence, and link-up play, quickly became a fan favourite with his tireless work rate and commitment on the pitch. Over the course of his two-year stay, he made 44 appearances across all competitions and found the back of the net nine times.

According to sources close to the player, Mawuena is now set to return to his home country, Togo, where he is expected to weigh several offers from both local and international clubs. A move to North Africa or another West African top-flight league is reportedly under consideration.
